Terms of Use
Last updated: 4 November 2026
These terms apply to your use of getbillhelper.com and its related domains, including the demo app at /app.
About BillHelper
BillHelper is an independent service in early development. It is not a registered charity and is not affiliated with any biller, bank, payment provider or government body.
The demo
The app at /app is a demonstration only. It does not process payments and no real money moves. The bills, people and messages in it are fictional. Please do not upload real bills or sensitive personal documents to the demo.
Accounts and the live app
You must be 18 or over and sign in with Apple or Google to use the live app. You must only post genuine bills that are in your name or your household's, with true information. Every bill is reviewed by a person before it is shown, and we may refuse or remove any bill or account. Paying a bill is a gift: donors get nothing in return, and a gift is not refundable once the bill has been paid, unless we refund it ourselves (for example, if the bill was already paid by someone else). BillHelper is currently in a testing phase: payments run in Stripe test mode and no real money moves.
Payments and the 5% transaction fee
Donors pay a 5% transaction fee on top of each bill. For example, for an £88.00 bill you pay £88.00 + £4.40 (5%) = £92.40. The fee is rounded to the nearest penny and is shown on every bill card and again on the confirm screen before you pay. The person being helped is credited 100% of the bill amount; nothing is deducted from it. People asking for help pay nothing.
BillHelper never holds your money. There is no wallet, no top-up and no stored balance. You save a card once on the BillHelper website; the card details are kept by our payment provider, Stripe, and we only store the card type, last four digits and expiry date. Your card is charged only when you swipe right on a bill and tap Confirm, and only for that bill plus the 5% transaction fee. If your bank asks you to confirm a payment (for example with 3D Secure), we open the BillHelper website so you can approve it with your bank. Card saving and payments happen on the website, not inside the iOS or Android apps. You can remove your saved card at any time from Account.
Content and conduct
Do not post anything illegal, abusive, misleading, sexual or that identifies other people without their permission. Use the Report button to flag a bill; reported bills may be hidden while we check them. You can delete your bills and your account at any time.
Early-access list
Joining the early-access list does not create an account and does not guarantee access to the service, eligibility for help or that the service will launch. Please see our Privacy Policy.
Future service
Before BillHelper handles real money, we will publish full terms covering accounts, bill review, payments, the transaction fee and refunds. You will need to accept those terms before you can use the live service.
Acceptable use
Don't misuse the website, try to interfere with it, or submit false information.
Liability
The website is provided "as is" while in development. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
